The ITIA Board of Directors and
Members extend their condolences to the family of the
Honorable Mark Stricker, Matteson Village President and
longtime ITIA Board Member,who passed
away in his home late Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008.
Mr. Stricker, who was born in
Chicago Heights, presided over a period of extraordinary
growth in far south suburban Matteson after he was first
elected mayor in 1981—eight years after Lincoln Mall was built
near Cicero Avenue and U.S. Highway 30—and the new mayor
helped manage the commercial and retail growth that sprouted
in the mall's wake.
Mr. Stricker is survived by his
wife, Charlotte, and two daughters, Lynne LoSchiavo and Jean
Jacobson, and four grandchildren.
